1.2. Definition of a catalogue of high-performance competence centres in digital technologies and their connection to DIHs

The connection with agribusiness and digital assets is one of the pillars of the Digital Innovation Hubs, in this proposal both the DIH of Extremadura Tech4efficiency and SFCoLAB have been working collaboratively mapping assets and generating new services for digitisation. The Extremadura DIH is one of the 12 Hubs selected and funded by the European Commission, it is a one-stop-shop for digitisation specialised in four areas: technologies for efficiency, mainly on energy use; technologies for ecology, new technologies to promote greening and sustainability in SMEs; technologies for the economy, aimed at developing and implementing Industry 4.0 and technologies for equality, which refers to technologies at the service of society. SFCoLAB creates solutions to the challenges of climate change, the digitisation of agriculture and the development of the circular economy adapted to small and medium-sized farms. Generate knowledge and solutions of advanced technological level in the agri-food sector, capable of responding to the fundamental issues of the economy of the territory in the national context and with international scalability.

The objectives of the IHLs are aligned with the transformation of a greener and digitised Europe with the use of Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence and High Performance Computing. The creation of a network of IHLs is one of the fundamental pillars of the new European policy of digitisation of industry, which aims to reach 20% of industrial GDP in Europe, and that this reindustrialisation comes hand in hand with a smart, innovative and sustainable industry. In this action, the IHLs will connect with other EUROACE infrastructures that promote technology-based entrepreneurship to generate new actors in the ecosystem and integrate their assets in the different catalogues.

Catalogue of assets and infrastructure of competence centres and Portfolio of Advanced Services

The digital assets and infrastructure of the competence centres have been identified, creating a catalogue that can be consulted by the entire agri-food industry. In addition, a portfolio of advanced services has been included, which includes the new services generated by the project (training, technical assistance, financing, prototyping, ecosystem connection) to the range of services offered by the competence centres.
