1.1 Analysing the digital maturity of EUROACE's agri-food industry
This action will analyse the capacities to transform the different production chains of the agri-food industry through the digitalisation of their production processes, the adoption of methodologies that rely on digital tools to make decisions and a process of updating the skills of the workforce throughout the value chain that transitions to digital models to optimise processes and increase competitiveness. A cross-border sectoral study of R&D&I capacities of the agri-food sector in key enabling technologies (KETs), such as digital technologies applied to agri-food and technologies for food Industry 4.0 will be generated. The monitoring of the quality and properties of food products, and of production processes to make them more sustainable, from the field, with the automation of crops through remote sensors, to a digital transformation of the agri-food industry.
Through a questionnaire, the digital maturity of SMEs and their potential to implement innovative technologies through R&D&I will be analysed. Connecting the digitalisation needs of EUROACE SMEs with digital enablers will be the main objective of this action. To this end, both Cooperativas Agroalimentarias de Extremadura and CONFAGRI will connect their associated cooperatives with the proposed digital maturity analysis processes. CICYTEX will coordinate this action to contribute to the methodological development of the digital transformation itineraries. These itineraries will set out the roadmap for companies for the implementation of their digitalisation plan.
The data obtained in the study will be compiled and extrapolated to each sector as a whole. The agro-industries with the greatest potential for the development and implementation of new technologies will be selected as candidates for the installation of demonstrators in Activity 2.
